Procreate feat. prawn

Art Jan 6, 2024

I have a habit of buying something and never use it. So, to commemorate the existence of Procreate in my app library sitting around doing nothing inside the folder, I decided to follow a beginner tutorial mainly focusing on getting started with Procreate.

Coincidentally, I found a Reddit thread with suggestion on which artists to learn from YouTube. From there, I found a good channel named Art with Flo. The channel has various tutorials and I haven't look fully into it yet but with 1 million subscribers, you can't go wrong with this channel at all. After skimming through few videos, I found a tutorial published just few weeks ago targetting beginners with Procreate.

The tutorial help you navigating Procreate by teaching how to make a colorful stylized fish. From the look of the thumbnail, I'd say this is quite impossible for a non-artist like me to produce such a pretty artwork. But you got to try, because it's impossible only if you give up and never try.

After few hours of keep pausing the video and work my way through the tutorial, I finally managed to finish the tutorial. Needless to say, it's still quite impossible for me to produce such pretty artwork because I don't think what I drew is a fish. It almost looks like a prawn.

Trust me I laughed a lot while drawing this thing

Anyway I truly enjoyed the process. Procreate make it a little bit easier for a digital artists to work on their art and it is so fun to use. $13 well spent, I would say.
